Russell Crowe was born April 7, 1964 in Wellington, New Zealand. Russell Crowe is the son of Jocelyn Yvonne and John Alexander Crowe. Russell Crowe has one sibling, an older brother, Terry Crowe.


Russell Crowe is married to Danielle Spencer, they began dating on in off between 1991 and 2003 until finally marrying in 2003. Russell Crowe and Danielle have two sons, Charles Spencer Crowe (7) and Tennyson Spencer Crowe (4).


Russell Crowe starting acting when he was 6yrs. old. He had one line in the Australian TV series "Spyforce". Russell Crowe then went on to peruse a musical career in his late teens. He performed under the name "Russ Le Roq" he produced a single in New Zealand called "I just Want to be like Marlon Brando". Russell Crowe then went on to Theatre work and eventually landing his first movie roll in 1990. His first film was "The Crossing" however his second film done by a film student titled " Blood Oath" was released before the "The Crossing" was.


Russell Crowe actually has an extensive background, but I will leave that for the biography sites. This is my weekly publication about DVD suggestions based on a celebrities birthday. So as Russell Crowe turns 47 today I would like to celebrate it by suggesting 10 of his films for viewing. 3 of the films have been directed by Ridley Scott ( a brilliant director and no doubt one of my favorites). Russell Crowe has worked on 5 films directed by Ridley Scott. Not too long ago a Journalist made a catty remark about Russell Crowe always working with Ridley Scott. I would like to say, that Journalist didn't take into consideration, when people make brilliant movies together every time, it's really not a problem! Russell Crowe is a great and versatile actor. So with that said, here are my top ten picks to watch on Russell Crowe's Birthday (or any day for that matter).
